Bachan's Japanese Barbecue Sauce is the authentic, versatile sauce used for grilling and barbecuing in Japan. Our founders' family recipe is the foundation, filled with the rich, bold flavors of soy, mirin, green onion, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. It's a deeply savory-sweet "teriyaki-ish" taste that should be notarized for its unparalleled umami.
Our products do not contain any preservatives. To stay true to the original recipe, we cold-fill our sauce, which eliminates the need for additives, preservatives, or artificial flavorings. Our crave-worthy flavor comes naturally from delicious, clean ingredients.
All Bachan's products are manufactured and produced in Northern California. We are a proud Bay Area-owned company committed to small-batch production. Every time we make our Japanese Barbecue Sauce, it is produced in small batches so you only get the freshest of the fresh. Each batch is tasted and approved by the Bachan's family before it goes out.
The shelf life of Bachan's is 18 months from the production date, and it should be refrigerated after opening. You can find the "Best By" date stamped near the bottom of the bottle.
We believe Bachan's is the most versatile barbecue sauce on the market. It can be used for marinating, drizzling, or dipping on meats, veggies, rice, noodles, and just about anything else you can dream up.
In addition to our original Japanese Barbecue Sauce flavor, we offer two delicious variations:
Hot & Spicy: We've given our family recipe a kick of sweet heat with the addition of red jalapeño, while still maintaining our crave-worthy flavor from simple, clean ingredients.
Yuzu Citrus: This sauce features the bright, tart, and incredibly refreshing taste of yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit that's a unique blend of grapefruit, lemon, and orange.
No matter which flavor you choose, you can trust that our ingredients matter. Our sauce is non-GMO, with a base of soy sauce, cane sugar, mirin, tomato paste, organic ginger, green onion, organic rice vinegar, organic garlic, and sea salt. We've also formulated our sauce to be shelf-stable without the use of any preservatives, and we don't add any water.
